International seminar on forest soils preservation and restoration in West Africa
From May 15 to 17, 2023, the international seminar on the preservation and restoration of forest soils in West Africa was held in Abidjan, which is part of the international initiative 4p1000.
Launched at COP21 in 2015, this initiative promotes understanding of the carbon cycle and the important role of soil in carbon storage, which can be used as a lever to reduce the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
It was a time for sharing knowledge and practical experiences between representatives of West African countries and international organizations working on these topics. Nitidæ was represented by Benjamin Garnier, Country Representative Côte d'Ivoire and Rolande Ettien, component head who also made a presentation of our actions on the outskirts of the Mabi-Yaya nature reserve.
