B4MOZ - Support for European Union programming for sustainable value chains and productive landscapes in Mozambique
Partners
Main goals
As part of the facility"The EU Biodiversity for Life - B4Life", an advisory service to strategically guide the future formulation of an EU-AAP-24 action to simultaneously support agro-forestry value chains and biodiversity conservation in a key landscape
Specific objectives
SO1. Provide a diagnosis of agro-forestry landscapes pre-selected by the European Union of Maputo, according to the geographical units of intervention (e.g. administrative jurisdictions, economic concessions, catchment areas, etc.) including an analysis of their governance structures. The diagnosis should align with NaturAfrica's 3 pillars (biodiversity conservation, green economy (including agro-forestry value chains), and territorial governance) and take into account various stakeholder categories and their inter-relationships
SO2. Propose strategic options relating to the themes, geographical units and categories of actors identified above, to be arbitrated by the project operators (European Union Delegation, Mozambican authorities), on the basis of prior exchanges/consultations with potential partners and competent authorities, upstream of the formulation of the action document
Results
Activities
A1. Identification and ranking of nature positive value chains
A2. Identification and ranking of terrestrial key landscapes for conservation and development in Mozambique, where a value chain approach would be relevant as an incentive for their integrated sustainable management/conservation/restoration
A3. Mapping of stakeholders, their needs, and interventions underway and in preparation
A4. Drafting of an intervention logic and strategic orientations
A5. Restitution of the complete strategic orientation note to the various stakeholders who were consulted in the first phase of the mission
