Main goals
Etc Terra-RONGEAD is in charge of implementing the following activities, within the framework of the "Farmer Innovations and Climate Change Resilience in Ivory Coast’s Cocoa Farms" project
Specific objectives
- Analysis of production practices and distribution of animal manure in Ivory Coast
- Preparation of training modules based on innovative practices, taking into account the constraints related to dissemination, using quantitative results and integrating the results of the "organic manure" value chain analysis
Results
R1. A summary document on the value chain of animal manure production / chicken manure is produced
R2. A training module is designed and a manifesto for the promotion of an integrated livestock-cocoa farming model, offering broad lines of action to be undertaken to improve the resilience of the cocoa sector in West Ivory Coast
Activities
A1. Write a note on the value chain of animal manure production / chicken manure
A2. Field missions in the West to understand the dairy industry from the producers and traders’ side, and in the East (Agnibilekrou) to understand the sector of poultry farming
A3. Designing of the module (story board, key messages), production of images / visual support
A4. The activity will require exchanges with the surveyor, the agro-economist researcher from CIRAD and the agricultural engineer of the ALP. The results of all the activities carried out will be analyzed and linked in order to produce the training modules
A5. The modules will then be tested in situ, and the key messages validated during focus-group with producers
