COSTRA - Evaluate the costs of bringing all cocoa operators in Côte d'Ivoire into compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation
Main goals
Through a methodology of consultation of direct and indirect operators, national or international, of the cocoa value chain, analysis of existing traceability, and required functionalities, the mission must estimate the overall cost of a traceability compliant with the EUDR of the entire sector in Côte d'Ivoire to design appropriate support measures
Specific objectives
SO1. Typology of traceability devices, functionalities required by the regulation, and pre-identification and estimates of a list of quantitative items within each type of traceability system
SO2. Conducting around sixty interviews with sector professionals including those in distribution in Europe, first and secondary processing, international and national trade, cocoa production and traceability software professionals
SO3. Identify the direct and indirect costs that must be incurred by the different professionals
SO4. Summary of interviews, report and validation of results with the competent authorities
