KAPATCHIVA - Advisory support on quality management and business of the Kapatchiva cashew cooperative
Main goals
Already supported by Nitidæ for cocoa via Ecookim, the Kapatchiva cooperative was created in 2003 with 261 members originally. They joined Ecookim in 2007, in 2010 the Fairtrade program and since 2012 they have been UTZ certified. Today, it is composed of 1190 members, 8 sections and 58 women totaling 4390 ha. The purpose of the support is to analyze the business plan and the quality management of the cooperative in order to provide advisory support for the development of its business opportunities.
Specific objectives
SO1. Audit and advisory support to improve practices in terms of quality (production method, calculation of KOR, transport, storage, humidity management, etc.) and management of cashew nuts in a cooperative
SO2. Training on the international market, evaluation of the business plan (supply cost, structure cost, remuneration of outlets, etc.) and putting in contact with potential business partners
