Participatory research project on cashew replanting : Grafting / Double grafting, Replanting plan, Crop diversification

Specific objectives

To renew ageing plantations, we decided to improve the plant material of non-bearing trees and evaluate the loss of yield on neerby tree cutting All for the purpose of permitting farmers de renew their plantations by limiting or substituting the loss of yield especially via planting food crops

The cocoa farmers, all valuechain stakeholders (private or public) and cunsumers

R1. Setting up tests in farmers plantations

Activities

A1. Selection of an elite tree per plot
A2. Double grafting of non-bearing old trees with the elite selected tree
A3. Grafting of young plants
A4. Setting up wood yard for each elite selected tree
A5. Training on the establishment of nurseries
A6. Training on the planting after the nursery
A7. Training on the grafting of young cashew tree
