SUSVAN - Support for the Fandriaka 3 project's agricultural advisory system for vanilla producers in the SAVA region of Madagascar
Main goals
As part of a study previously carried out by Nitidæ for Unilever, recommendations were made to improve the roll-out of the Fandriaka 3 vanilla producer support project. One of the most important of these recommendations was to improve the farm advisory system, which needs to be adapted to deliver advice as close as possible to farmers. Nitidæ is supporting the project in this overhaul, providing technical assistance for diversification, training and farm advisory services.
Specific objectives
SO1. Improve the results of agricultural advice given to producers, particularly on regenerative farming practices.
SO2. Identify the potential for diversification and provide support to develop it.
SO3. Train agricultural technicians.
