Job offer : Finance Controler at the head office in Lyon on a permanent contract

Join the team! Nitidæ carries out about fifty projects on agriculture, environment, market, forest, or bioenergy in Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Côte d'Ivoire, or Senegal with more than 210 colleagues!

Mission

The Financial Controller is in charge of the sound administrative and financial management of the programmes for which he/she is responsible. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the administrative and financial services and the associated tools are operational and evolving to guarantee compliance with donor rules on the use of the funds entrusted to the programmes.

Supervision

Reporting directly to the association's Administrative and Financial Director, you will work in collaboration with Nitidæ employees at head office as well as country representatives, project managers and administrative and financial managers in the association's offices abroad. The position involves regular travel to the countries where the association is active.

Responsabilities

For each country, he/she will be responsible for (non-exhaustive list):

  • Accounting (quality and reliability of the country representations' accounts)
  • Financial (budget monitoring in collaboration with the Administrative & Financial Managers)
  • Treasury (monitoring cash requests from the field)
  • Internal Audit (quality of documentation, archiving of field files)
  • Management (ongoing training, skills development, appraisal and setting objectives for the Administrative & Financial Managers)
  • Cross-functional (participate in the department's structuring, both in the field and globally).

Candidate profile

  • Motivation for Nitidæ's objectives
  • Education: 2 years' higher education in accounting/management or humanitarian training (business school / Bioforce, Ecole 3A)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, mainly VBA macro)
  • Languages: French and English (Portuguese is a plus)
  • Knowledge of the NGO and international public development aid sectors is a strong asset
  • Desired qualities: Curious and proactive, good organisational skills, rigour, good interpersonal skills, autonomy, adaptability and ability to work in an intercultural context, ability to work remotely
