‘Agroforestry cocoa farming in West Africa: How can cocoa production be reconciled with forest cover restoration?

A seminar on agroforestry cocoa production was held in Yamoussoukro from 25 to 28 November 2024 as part of the COCOA4FUTURE project. The main aim of this seminar was to share the initial results of the Cocoa4Future project and previous studies on the functioning of agroforestry cocoa farming systems in Côte d'Ivoire, and to discuss their implications in terms of forest restoration. Nitidae was represented by Rolande Ettien, Head of Component, in charge of Nitidae's activities within the project. A presentation was given on the methodology for supporting farmers in introducing trees into their plots.
