Main goals

Contribute to improving the practices of cocoa farmers by promoting an agro-ecological approach of organic cocoa production The project is a consortium between SCEB (leader), NGO RONGEAD and Coopérative Ethiquable

Specific objectives

The action aims to strengthen the capabilities of SCEB and extend the organic and fair models to the benefit of the country’s producers

Beneficiaries

  • 64 producers members of the cooperative: technical capacity building in organic farming and agroforestry practices
  • The employees of SCEB, the Management Committee and the members of the internal control system: organizational capacities, management and quality (fermentation crates)
  • Other cocoa farmers from the neighboring villages of Singrobo, N'gorankro, Okassou, Ambovia and Taabo (awareness raising and training in organic prectices)

Results

** R1. ** The state of organic cocoa plots is improved by the establishment of partnerships and testing of certified organic products (biopesticides and organic fertilizers)
** R2. ** Productivity and resilience of organic cocoa plots increase with technical solutions for organic production in an agroforestry approach
** R3. ** The products’ quality is improved by a technical support on beans fermentation and the reinforcement of quality control procedures
** R4. ** The strengthening of the cooperative's organizational and commercial capacities allows welcoming and following a growing number of producers
