Main goals

5-day training for Haitian students in the 5th year of study in agribusiness on fair trade and organic farming

Activities

Following the earthquake and the sad events that marked Haiti in January 2010, the French Embassy has funded intensive course programs for end-of-cycle students so that they can complete their university studies.

As part of this training program, RONGEAD proposed an intervention on the themes of fair trade and organic farming.

This intervention was articulated around the presentation:

  • convergences and complementarities between fair trade and organic farming
  • production, processing and export rules for fair trade and organic farming
  • principles of collective certification illustrated as a tool for development and market access for small producer groups
  • Practical experience of students through the implementation of an Internal Control System (ICS)
